RIVERS AND BAYELSA OMBUDSMAN GIVES AMBASSADOR OF PEACE AWARD TO DCP KEHINDE, E.I EDORIE, IGO WELI AND OKUNBOR OSAGIE.










The Rivers State Office of the Public Complaints Commission also known as the Nigerian Ombudsman has given an  AMBASSADOR OF PEACE AWARD to DCP. KEHINDE PATRICK, MR. IGO WELI, ACG E.I EDORIE and MR. OSAGIE OKUNBOR in recognition of their Continued Contribution to Peace and for the application of the ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION in resolving Conflicts.


DCP KEHINDE is the Deputy Commissioner Of Police in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Department Of the Nigerian Police, Rivers State Command. He was recognized and appreciated by the Rivers State Office of The PCC for his commitment and dedication to Peace and for sustaining a responsive collaboration with the Commission by ensuring that Complaints referred to the Police through the Commissioner Of Police are investigated and resolved and recalcitrant respondents prosecuted. 


ACG EDORIE E.I is the South South Zonal Coordinator Of the Nigerian Customs. He

was recognized for his support and encouragement to the Public Complaints Commission. 


Mr. IGO WELI is the General Manager, Government/ External Relations of SHELL PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY OF NIGERIA. Mr OSAGIE OKUNBOR is the Country Chairman and Managing Director of SHELL in Nigeria. They were both recognized for their commitment to effective Community relation,  Peace, conflict resolution and collaboration with the Public Complaints Commission in Rivers State. 


The AWARDS were presented to them in Portharcourt in a separate Occasion by the Federal Commissioner in charge of the Public Complaints Commission in Rivers State, Hon. Marshall Israel and the Management of the Commission.


The Commissioner thanked them for their service to humanity and urged them to continue to support Community development, Peace building and reconciliation through the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism. He urged them to be motivated and encouraged to do more for the society. 


While calling on the law enforcement agencies including the Police to entrench alternative dispute resolution and avoid litigation, the Federal Commissioner appealed to the residents of Rivers State to always make use of the Services of the Public Complaints Commission to resolve their complaints. 


The AWARDEES thanked the Public Complaints Commission for recognizing their efforts and promised to do more. They assured the Rivers State Ombudsman of their Continue collaboration, support and commitment.
